A PLACES FOR TOURIST


Prachuabkhirikhan is loated 289 kms. south of Bangkok. West side close to Union of Myanmar, while East side close to Gulf of Thailand, the province has 224.8 kms. coast long. Tambol Klongwan is the most narrow part of Thailand, it is only 12 km. form Myanmar to the coast. The province has sea side, mountains, caves and waterfalls, and no wonder Prachuabkhirikhan is the paradise of tourists. The meaining of Prachuabkhirirkhan is "Land of many mountains" make Prachuab has a lot of forests, caves and waterfalls. Here are the places that tourist should go:

  • Wanakorn Beach
  • Huay Yang Waterfall
  • Khao Hin Tern in Park
  • Pala-U Waterfall
  • Sai and Kaew Caves
 

Wanakorn Beach

From Prachuabkhirikhan head of the south around 22 kms. and turn to the left around 4 kms. there is a beautiful beach and pine trees. There are bungalows for the tourist.

 

Huay Yang Waterfall

From Wanakorn beach, turn to the right around 5 kms. is Huay Yang Waterfall. It has 7 levels, the roud reach to the headquater park which is hear the waterfall. The lovest level there is a little pond for relax and swim. The atmosphere is delight and beautiful.

     

Khao Hin Tern in Park

The same way to go to Darn Singkorn. There are a lot of big rocks close together with many kind of shapes.

 

Pala-U Waterfall

60 kms. west of Hua Hin District, in Tambol Nong Plub. There is a beutiful waterfull surrounded with the forest which is part of the Kang Krajarn National Park. Tents and cabins are available for rent at the head-quarter park.

     

Sai and Kaew Caves

There are underworld time capsules. This ancient caverns have petrified waterfall, and monstrous limestone domes with dagliry stone tentacles.

 

 


     
TRANSPORTATION

By Car : From Bangkok, drive for about 3 hours along the Highway 35 (Thon Buri - Pak Thao route) via Samut Songkhram then turn left to the Highway No. 4 (Phetkasem Road) via Phetchaburi and Hua Hin to Prachuap Khiri Khan, a total distance of 281 kilometres. Another route might otherwise be taken from Bangkok via Buddhamonthon, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Tubsakea, a total distance of 365 kilometres.

By Coach : Regular buses leave Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal for Hua Hin and Prachuap Khiri Khan many times daily. Call (662) 435-1199 (air-conditioned bus) or (662) 434-5557-8 (non air-conditioned bus) for more information.

By Train: Trains leave Bangkok Railway Station for Hua Hin 12 times daily and Prachuap Khiri Khan 9 times daily. Please check timetable before travelling at the nearest station or Information Unit in Bangkok Railway Station, Tel: (662) 223-7010, 223-7020.
